Well that's disappointing.
shareThese movies where they try to generate interest and buzz by casting a modern actor as a famous detective almost always are clumsy and going to fail. I would not expect anything different from this. I have zero interest in seeing this at all. These movies are like parasites off the past.
shareYes, somehow we never really care all that much about what is going on. Not sure if it's more the fault of the story or lack of sympathy for the characters... on the other hand it's never dull or boring. It's an odd mixture. Maybe it's one of those cases where the book works because the reader can be in the character's head, but without that, it's just not the same.
