Absolutely Soulless. This "Movie" Dealt a Serious Blow to the Credibility of Cinema

I don't think this 90 minute commerical could have been more soulless. -It's clearly just a formerly scrapped illumination movie in Mario skin.
-The voice actors clearly have never played a Mario game before.
-The plot is brainless flooded with plotholes even for an illumination movie.
-It's not funny. Let me say it again: It's not. Funny. Just more minion-tier humor
-WAY too many game references. I get it's a Mario movie, but they just shove references down your throat every other scene and just comes off as silly, sloppy and desperate to advertise Mario games.
-Luigi got sidelined for 80% of the movie.
-Too many random scenes and locations. Did they cut anything out?

"BUT BUT BUT BUT IT'S A CHILDREN'S MOVIE!! IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE BAD!"
First, it's not a movie. It's a commercial. Movies have story arcs, character development and themes. Commericals are made solely for advertising and selling a product. This is a commercial and people (unfortunately including me) paid to watch it.
Second, I wouldn't want child brainwashed by this soulless corporate advertisement. There's plenty of actual children's movies out there.

Anyways this was an embarrassing movie. 3/10.

I felt the movie was "passable" but I definitely think the criticisms are legitimate. The film does a very good job with a its aesthetic presentation & pandering to nostalgic video game references. Nothing else really stands out about it. I was surprised by how much the humor was lacking as a lot of the jokes kind of fall flat. I definitely get the criticism of the movie feeling like an overly long video game advertisement as most of what the movie has to offer is surface level, without much at its core.

It is true that the film may not have lived up to your expectations, and you highlighted some specific problems. Apparently you thought the film lacked soul, as it used recycled elements from previous Illumination films, clad in Mario's skin. In addition, you noted that the voice actors seemed unfamiliar with the Mario franchise, and there were many plot holes in the story. You found the humor uninteresting, reminiscent of minion-level humor, and the abundance of in-game references seemed forced and desperately promotional to you. And then I also read https://casinosanalyzer.ca/low-deposits/1-dollar-deposit-casino reviews of recent games and my evening was perfect ) In addition, you expressed disappointment with Luigi's limited screen time and the film's perceived lack of coherence due to random scenes and locations. You also disagree with the notion that the fact that this is a children's film should justify any apparent flaws, since, in your opinion, there are plenty of other quality children's films out there.

Good points.
It's a "new" formula they have been applying to every toy/game since the Lego movie (which worked exactly because it was new and fresh then).
Obviously they failed miserably with Mario, who did NOT need it.
