Thought this could have been interesting, but all the dumb things that you think will happen actually do happen.

I was fine with excepting the plot of they can get to this place only by skates, fine OK. However, all the other dumb things that kept happening was just too much. Of course the Lt. from the beginning ends up being the other team member, of course the captain falls through the ice immediately, of course old guy tries to kill multiple fully armed soldiers for no reason, of course radio guy's g/f tries to contact him immediately after he dies, of course tough bearded man says he is fine after getting shot and refuses to treat his wound and then dies shortly after, of course secret item ends up being a virus -this part was pretty comical, and of course her daughter isn't there. Then we have a new movie about destroying the virus. Just too much.

I did think there was some decent action (until the end) and there were some really beautiful shots.

I liked all the little "of course" things you pointed out. The movie had enough puzzling things so I appreciated some things were simpler to understand. Examples of puzzling things never explained:
- Why did Nylund detour to some dangerous place and leave her alone in the truck?
- How did Nylund make it back to the base?
- How did Nylund survive after getting shot in the back? (In rehab, he walked around fine with his arm in a sling but that didn't match the immobile state he was in after Edh shot him on the ice.)

What I found dumb was the scene toward the end when ten white-coated bad guys let themselves get shot down one by one. You'd think after the two or three were killed, they'd have stopped to re-assess their dumb plan to continue advancing in the same way.

Also on their way to the lab they shot one of the lab workers in the hand and took the other one hostage. Doesn't make sense why they didn't take the other one too.
That is the one they shot in the hand because she could have alerted the others and leaving her behind was a security risk.
Either take her along at gunpoint or just shoot her in the head.
This along with some other things in the movie didn't make any sense at all.
