Torture porn, exploit/shock flick which could tell the story better

I saw this on a post featuring "hard to watch movies" along with a couple I've seen, so I thought - hm, I have not seen this, let's check it out.

Well you dive right in with gore/torture porn with a scene that, I've got to admit, is pretty revolting and over the top. So you think it will stretch the envelope.

There are disturbing terrorizing scenes, and some gratuitous sexploitation.

But this movie is trying to tell a story, by weaving another timeline into the main plot. It just didn't make much sense. Like, was that a political prisoner in the beginning or a marriage spat gone horribly bad (I guess it was some combination but it was unclear, maybe the subtitles I had were not the best).

If the story had been more coherent, this might be even more effective, but the main point of this movie is to be over the top gory and disturbing, so do not watch it with your parents, or your kids. It's just an exercise in "can I sit through this".
