It was an excellent movie. But......
It was an excellent movie and flawlessly executed from start to finish. The only thing is that, like a lot of movies, there are large elements of other movies in A Quiet Place.
The setting is sort of like Signs crossed over with Jeepers Creepers. I say that because the monster is somewhat similar to that in Jeepers Creepers while the outback is similar to Signs.
Next up, we have the post-apocalyptic eeriness which gives it an "I Am Legend" type feeling. It also takes a leaf out of the book so-to-speak from the "Revolution" TV Series.
There are probably countless other cliches from other works I can think of. Then again, most movies and TV shows these days re-use plot points and story structures from others. So, complete and total originality is very rare.
Nevertheless, I was on the edge of my seat from the get go and the scarcity of dialogue is a large factor in this. I would say well worth a watch for thrill seekers.
