Problems with this movie
1. How on Earth did the Singer figure that Jeff Bridges was about to spike her drink?
For that, she would've been suspecting it quite early (during their diner discussion) that something fishy is about to happen or is happening. She was all prepared and hit Bridges right on time! This came as an absolute surprise while I kept guessing that the movie will eventually reveal something which will balance-out her action, but it was never explained! And neither was she from any kind of criminal sharp-minded background which I guessed would turn-out to be but she was simply a simple singer!
2. Why would the Singer & Jeff bridges lie at first when asked about where did the money come from? The singer said she earned it! Really? I mean what purpose does it solve in telling this story?
That scene, infact just happened to be a 'filler' to extend movie's runtime and until they both reveled to true story about the origin of the money.
3. The whole characterization of Miller was meh! Once a strong soldier who fought with enemies and then a timid employee forced to do all those immoral things which he could easily quit & fight against, a drug addict - All of this, a screenwriter's contrived convenience - also making him stand-up against the enemies once again from his timid self to sharp-shooter and then a crybaby again at the end!!!
4. Ok...I can see the Microfilm (which was never revealed which famous personality it was filmed on) as a McGuffin like the suitcase in Pulp-Fiction, that was just a lame inclusion (screenwriter trying to be smart and creative) and falls off as yawn!
5. Was Dakota Johnson from serious some criminal background, brutally killing the cop? May be only God knows because I'm sure the writer himself didn't know as he just wanted to focus on shock & surprise twist elements without explaining anything.
