Patrick moans about not being able to jump out of his locked window...then in the morning its open wide...had housekeeping opened it?

I don’t think he could figure out how to open it in his state of mind. Showing an open window the next morning was probably meant to illicit a kind of irony or a strange fate.

Yes, opened hotel window was like a metaphorical opened window to a new sober life.
