Doesn't the ending of this movie render that null and void? Because we see Jean alive and well and older. Unless Sansa Jean is supposedly older here and they've surpassed that end? Or if it's two different realities? Like Deadpool said, these timelines are confusing.
shareJean is alive at the end of this movie. She simply evolved into a cosmic being. Jessica Chastain said that this would happen earlier in the film. Jean says so in the voiceover at the end and the last shot is of her flying in the sky.
shareSo, are we supposed to think she just comes back and hangs out as a human and so the end of Days of Future Past is like a flash-forward from Dark Phoenix? Not trying to be obtuse or a jerk here, genuinely just don't know. If that's where you're going, not sure I'm entirely on board as it just feels odd to me, but it's something.
Part of why I dislike time travel as a plot device.
Well Jean became a giant bird at the end of X2 and returned to her human form in X3.
