Disappointing. A better ending would be (obvious spoilers ahead)...

I had this movie on my watchlist for years, finally saw it today.

Kind of disappointed to see it was like a low budget syfy channel monster film, but it was not all bad - the tension and the survival fright was pretty decent enough.

The title Sweetheart, I guess, is a reference to the condescending name her boyfriend uses - and then she is the lone survivor.

Watching the final sequence here, I thought the only way I will like the ending is if they do this... After she finally defeats and kills the monster, she looks back to see a family of them. Maybe a female looking version of the monster with a couple of pups. The monster was doing the same thing. Survive, and feed his family.

They didn't end it that way. They left us hanging.
