Why on earth would the Chinese guy try to help he soldiers, but fights with the captain? Makes no damn sense. Why didn't the Chinese guy come find them? It's like the film could have ended in 10 minutes in the cave of bugs. If the captain character was poisoned how she survive, but the Black dude had a nest full of bugs? Don't get me started with Ron Pearlman haha. Also the ending was so cheesy.

There's a large audience of people who don't care much about the quality of how they spend their time on earth.

Agreed i really couldn't figure out why he was trying to kill her when he helped them when they first arrived, made no sense at all.
