In the 68th National Film Awards recently announced by the Central Government for the year 2020, Telugu films have shown their strength. While 'Color Photo' won the best Telugu film, 'Natyam' won two awards in the best choreography and make-up categories. Thaman also won the Best Music Director award for the songs of the movie 'Ala Vaikunthapuramulo'.

In the national awards, Kollywood star Surya's 'Surarai Potru' (Akasam Nee Haddura) showed its strength. It won a total of five awards in the Best Feature Film, Best Actor (Surya), Best Actress (Aparna), Best Background Music and Best Screenplay categories.
