Plot?

Is it just about a royal visit to Downton? Kind of thin storyline for a feature film.

Where’s Edith? I didn’t see her in the promos.

I am looking forward to seeing this for nostalgia sake alone. I hope there is a little more plot and intrigue in there too.

Still wondering how much of this is will be story and how much will be just a showcase of characters walking through their parts for old time’s sake.

There won't be any comic book people. Actual people talking, not CGI flying, chasing, and fighting. That's enough to entice me.

SNL had same thought on this.

Plenty of things happen around the royal visit. It's more than just visit.

The Lady Edith has a prominent part, definitely. The only characters who I thought deserved more screen time were two men: Mary's husband and Mr. Bates, though Mr. Bates' has an implied behind-the-scenes role.

The fact that it is a movie allows them to get characters out of the house and into other venues -- including outdoor ones -- quite a lot. There are some pretty spectacular scenes.

You'll have to go and see then. There's plot aplenty.

I thought it was damn boring. I even fell asleep for a while and when I woke up it appeared I missed nothing. The petty dramas between the Royal servants and the Abbey servants was just so pompous.
