Completely fake (spoilers)

No reality show is completely "real" but this one looks and feels completely scripted. For one thing why would that woman be writing all the addresses for they were planning to stay at on a calendar far too large to take with them. If someone were stupid enough to write the addresses down in the first place they would put it on something small enough to take along. Also the people who use the ATM in the bus station, well there is no way someone who has had time to plan how they are going to stay out of sight is going to make a mistake that stupid. And on top of that all of these so-called fugitives sounded like terrible actors reading lines from an awful script. None of the dialogue seemed real.

Yes, why would she write the adresses down?? They're supposed to be friends of her boyfriends. I guess writing down "blank and blank's house" would hurt them just as much, but then again, why was it written down if they made it seem like it was last minute when they were in the car? (With the irony being he said "you know where I live.") lololololol

I actually buy the calendar thing as possibly being real - I doubt she took the giant calendar page with her, but it could have been used as a planning tool beforehand. We'd all probably be surprised what we wouldn't think about even if we had days to plan a clean getaway.

The couple who bought the bus tickets after using the ATM at the bus station - they had a great strategy until they actually got on the bus. I can think of three scenarios - they got caught on purpose to collect the appearance fee as soon as possible and get back to their regular lives after one day - or maybe they even got sent on a paid vacation by CBS for a month after they got caught so as not to give anything away to their family/friends/coworkers who might leak spoilers if they had returned home before the 28 day period was over. The second scenario being that they were in on it from the start because the producers of the show wanted to have somebody be caught right away on the first episode. Overly dramatic chase scene at the end included for no extra charge! Third scenario - these are the most clueless and/or naive two people in the United States.

We have numerous calendars in our house, but nothing ever gets written on them, we write everything down on our iPhones and iPads. We take them everywhere so it's just convenience. I wanted to throw something at the tv when they pulled that calendar out!

No. People really are that stupid. They think that detectives would take hours or days to catch up with them and then always be one step behind if they kept moving. But, that just isn't the case if the detectives REALLY want to catch you -- like if you just bombed something or killed a cop.

It's true that most of the time detectives don't go to any great lengths to catch a criminal and they look into it whenever they get a chance. But, they can really get their butts in gear and catch people almost instantly when they need to or want to.

The thing is that it takes a LOT to keep detectives from finding you if they are trying. Average people off the street have no idea how hard it would be and have no clue where to even begin. Going to your aunt's house or your co-worker's cabin is not a good option.

They didn't take the entire calendar with them... They wrote everything down on June, and then just took the June page with them. Either way, they were stupid!

In the end of the program, CBS did have the closure, "Only the investigation technique shown is real, the rest of the show is not."

It doesn't say that? lol Good try..

Hmm I just realized that the calander sheet had been ripped off supposedly so that they took that with them, but like someone posted on another thread no one is going to print so hard on a calander that you see it on the next page. I mean who doesn't know that you can bring that right up with a pencil.

Anyway, I'm done watching. I tuned in out of curiosity but it is even worse than I thought it would be. Scripted show with crappy actors... no thanks!

Yea it sounds pretty ridiculous. If you had enough cash you could easily bypass society by living in a tent in the woods somewhere. It would be boring but it would be possible I think.

You would need enough food for a month. Easier said than done.

reply

Beans and rice and rice and Beans, it would suck but is quite doable.

Each team only gets $500 that they can use in $100 increments.

How do you plan to eat and more importantly drink? The necessary survival gear + 28 days of food is a heavy load for a soldier, let alone an everyday guy.

Who said she wrote with a pencil? They used a pencil to reveal the writing but that says nothing about what she wrote with.

YOU JUST realized that? God you're a retard, and you want to sit here and nitpick this show?

I think it's totally plausible she wrote on it, and yes an imprint would be left without her "pressing down" on it. *beep* idiot.

The show is interesting even if it is fake but...

Hasn't the guy with the gf who wrote everything on the calendar run from the cops successfully a couple of times? They were told the Hunters would have access to all their computers, phones etc. maybe he planned for her to write stuff down so they could read the imprint to throw them off?

Or maybe I'm just hoping they're not that stupid. I was thinking when I write on my desk calendar at work I hate when it marks on the next page so I put something underneath when I write so why wouldn't they do that? Lol.

I don't think so. It led them right to where they were.
