Go Bag

Since they know that in 48 hours they are going to be told to go on the run, why don't they have everything packed and ready to go? That would save an awful lot of time. Instead they run around the house, dramatically emptying drawers and trying to find everything they need. One couple even stopped at their store before leaving! Obviously this makes for more dramatic TV. Do the official rules say they can't pack beforehand?

The rules are here:

We already know the new series follows nine teams of two who must go on the run and evade capture for 28 days, but just what else is involved?

These are the rules of the hunt:

Fugitives must stay within a 100,000-square mile hunt zone.
Fugitives will be given a one-hour head start before Hunters are alerted.
Fugitives are provided limited funds.
Command Center is given only a name, photo, and last known location.
Fugitives that evade capture win $250,000 per team.

I would imagine there are more rules. These are just the ones the public knows about. Considering some of the less bright things contestants have done so far, probably means they're being forced into a mistake.

There *must* be some kind of 'rule" against staying in one place too long. Otherwise, why not go to a friend's house, tell them not to let the "hunters" in and stay there for 28 days.

But they (the show) are being evasive about why people keep moving when the hunters get close. If they do not have legal authority to actually start searching random people's houses, why ever move?

The criminal ginger with the beard who's a lawyer now could've just stayed at that first friend's house. Let the hunters drive up and down the street. Let them even figure out which house they're holed up in. If all the property owner simply has to do is restrict access of the premises to the hunters, why not just do that? Same with that married couple from Florida holed up at the friend's house where the "hunters" couldn't even go down the driveway. They would've been fine if they just stayed in the house for the remainder of the 28 days under those circumstances.

I have no problem with a "rule" being they cannot stay in one place for longer than X amount of time, but for godsakes, tell US that. Otherwise, it looks extremely easy to beat and the contestants look extremely dumb for not doing just that and its frustrating to not even see any of them at least *try* that.

Agreed, only other explanation is they picked a bunch of contestants that are easily spooked

I believe that the rules say that they do have to move around periodically. Plus, I believe that the show will soon tell us that the teams have to go to a specific location to collect the money at the end of the 28 days. So, if they stayed in the house for 26 days and were surrounded by the hunters the whole time, they'd get caught leaving on the last day to go collect the money.

You "believe" but you are really just assuming. Point I was making is the show shouldn't be so vague.

reply

I think the original series there was a rule that players had to move every 48 hours or less.

None of those "Rules" have anything to do with contestants being told they will be activated into the game within a 48 hour window and not getting anything ready between the time the 48 hour window begins and they are set off on the "Run".
