Been getting into Bollywood movies lately and was looking forward to this one after all the hype about it. Sadly, it's not good.

The action and visuals were awesome, but the writing was awful! Very generic and predictale story and the romantic angel was not well written and so forced. The whole first hour of the movie is basically just a romantic comedy and the story doesn't really get going until it's almost halfway through the movie. Was really tough to sit through almost 3 hours of this.

I have not seen that Hindi movie. One complaint is they are trying to be the MCU, with dazzling visual effects.

The Indian film critics are more enthusiastic about a time travel movie, Oke Oka Jeevitham (2022), in Telegu:

I have not seen that either, and it is in a lot fewer North American theaters.

Apparently this is going to be the start of the MCU in Bollywood

I ended up seeing both movies. I liked Oke Oka Jeevitham (2022) a lot.

But Brahmastra Part One: Shiva (2022) as too long and boring.
