Oh, no, no - that ending -
Oh, no, no, no, no. This is prettily done, with nice scenery, and has a good setup - but the ending is so far from believable that it just doesn't work at all. It's downright cruel, in some ways, in the sugar-coated way it tries to tie up and explain away a heartbreaking situation in a way everybody can feel good about.
I would bet money that a man wrote this, not a woman. The ending gives it away. Love doesn't leave. Love doesn't just "let you go." That's not love. Sorry not sorry.
