He used to be featured on the Narcocon website, but after the news broke -- Narcocon scrubbed him from the site.
In the beginning, police speculated he was drugged up.. but his toxicology came back clean from prescription drugs and street drugs.
Weird.
He did leave the cult in his early 20's. Apparently, he suffered from serious mental issues. He refused to seek help, I do not know if that was due to the mental issue taking over his thoughts OR he was just that mentally ingrained by the cult to not want help because of what he was taught. *shrugs* Ah well, he is no longer having problems now.

Well after the Reisdorf's left the cult and Brandon had psychological problems.. The Reisdorf's still had the fear of mental health professionals.. So, there is a good chance - he still held onto that belief too.
You're right though.. that problem is fixed now. It is a shame the lady and the cat had to be snuffed out like that.
