shareI personally don't wish Disney to go bankrupt... but I don't really want to support their marketing process. They mostly rely on making new DVD editions of their old classics which they sell for excessively high prices, making useless but profitable sequels (of course, this is not ALWAYS the case) and, now, a new trend, remaking their classics into live-action films. Talk about being on autopilot and milking already succesful concepts to stay safe and make sure that they can make as much money as possible.
No care for the actual audience, other than their wallets. When was the last time Disney REALLY came up with something new and original? I'd say that this goes back to the begginings of Pixar (even though I know that they used to be independant from DIsney and simply had the studio as a kind of promotter) with Toy Story or The Incredibles. Recent Pixar movies are not bad per say, nor unoriginal, but they lack some of the magical feeling that Pixar used to give us. Coincidentely, it all seemed to start going downhill from the moment Disney bought it and started to have all the creative control on what was made. At this point all the useless and obviously money-grabbing sequels like Monster University or Finding Doris started coming out.
So, with all this being said, I don't see why would anyone even be happy everytime they make a fuckload of money by putting no real effort on the creative aspect and, instead, thinking about profit without any care put into their work. Disney became this devil powerful entreprise which calculate everything considering if the ideas or bankable before wondering if it's innovative.
So yeah, I don't hate Disney, I enjoy some stuff they make nowadays here and there. But do I wish for movies like Aladdin or Dumbo (the live-action remakes of course) to make a lot of money and, by doing so, support their strategy so they keep making thousands of unnoriginal, lame and boring movies or cartoons? Not in my opinion.
I want to add that this is one of the major reasons I avoid going in movietheaters to see most of the stuff that Disney makes. I don't really want to give them my money knowing that it's pretty much all they want. Yes, I make exceptions, like most Star Wars movies (simply because I'm a long-time fan) or The Incredibles 2.
The other would be the fact that they make nearly every single one of their movies in 3D, AVX and all these things which raise considerably the price of the tickets, while I could simply be fulfilled with a standard 2D screening. If only most theaters would offer the option to see it in the basic format. But where I live for instance, they often don't even have the regular format so you are forced to pay more.

shareThat info is privy to Disney only but if you have read articles on industry sites in recent years (and have any retentive capabilities) you will see analysts time and time again cite P.&A costs for expensive blockbusters to be at least 100 million and many times up to 150 million so that 100 million is a reasonable and CONSERVATIVE guess. It's very possible it was even higher.
