Amy Adams could've worn some make up in this movie
Looking plain faced and haggard.
shareI find that she’s taking way too many roles where she plays a character who is broken and haggard. Sharp Objects, Hillbilly Elegy, and now this.
I guess maybe “damaged woman” is some kind of acting challenge and actresses get sick of playing on their good looks constantly, something tough to keep up past 40-45 (though many are now killing it in their late 50s).
But this isn’t a great type casting. I don’t know if she’s actually awful looking without makeup or if this takes a lot of special effects makeup to pull off, but she’s looking bad enough that I kind of don’t want to watch her anymore.
And the parts grow kind of repetitive and one dimensional. Not entirely her fault, but geeze, maybe look at some other scripts.
So? It’s not the kind of movie you watch for eye candy.
shareShe looked good in the end though
