Fantastic movie.

I've only just began watching these live action Disney remakes and they've been outstanding so far (The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, The Jungle Book).

A lot of people slammed this movie but I should have known something was up when the biggest criticisms they could come up with are;
- It's too much like the original.
- It's a soulless remake.
- Lacks heart.
- Doesn't have that magic.

All this talk about soul, heart, magic... merely nostalgic bias. The original was seen by so many as children, they have a fondness for it and now as adults they just don't have that childish enthusiasm anymore.

This is the story everyone loves only instead of being a cartoon it's a superbly photorealistic CGI movie.

People complain when a remake is too different, then they complain when it's too similar. People are just gonna complain and moan regardless of what they do.

Agreed...as far as the Lion King (2019) is concerned.

And I look forward to the continuation Mufasa: The Lion King (2024) in this style.
As said there last month.
