When critics pan a popular movie, people get defensive. But in this case, critics are right. It is an emotionless, shot for shot remake. The lack of emotions shown by the animals put me off from the get go. It might be realistic but sure as shit ain't fun to look at.
shareI agree. It reminds me of the Gus Van Zant remake of ‘Psycho’. Much like that movie, there is no reason for this film to exist.
shareCGI Animals with too much human facial expressions would have looked creepy as well. Disney wants to play it safe.

I haven't seen it because I don't understand the need to. Is it better than the 1994 version?
It's not better, it's just different. My best friend doesn't like drawn cartoons and loves animals, so if you asked her she would say it's better than the 1994 version.
Every scene goes by very fast and some of the songs feel kind of rushed, except for 'I Just Can't Wait to Be King'. 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' is actually longer in this version.
