Overall, I liked it *Spoilers*

The only things that disappointed me were...

1. "Be Prepared" came and went. It's a pivotal scene and should've been given its due. This also affected...

2. Mufasa's death, which was less powerful than it should have been. The buildup was there, the emotion, but then come time for the actual deed, it fell flat. Nothing to do with knowing what's coming; "The Circle of Life" brought a lot of emotion out of me; it was just so beautiful.

In the original, Scar whispers "Long live the king" in a measured, devilish tone, waits a beat and pushes him off. In the remake, he basically advertises it -- "LONG LIVE THE *Pow!* KING!" Did Scar seriously punch Mufasa off the cliff?

In the original, you saw the fear in Mufasa's eyes. You saw the evil in Scar's.

Everything else worked just fine. 8/10.
