‘The Lion King’ Ruling B.O. With $192M-$200M: Record Opening For July & Jon Favreau

While it’s clear that The Lion King is bound to be the king of July overtaking Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($169.1M), the pic after clocking an estimated $78M Friday, is now headed to $192M-$200M for the weekend, which for the second half of the calendar year is the third best opening after Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($247.9M) and Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($220M).

With an estimated $78.5 million on Friday, Disney's The Lion King is on its way to a three-day performance around $190 million if not higher. On top of that, audiences appear to be enjoying what they're seeing, giving the film an "A" CinemaScore in contrast to the mixed-to-negative reviews from film critics.

Internationally, The Lion King opened in several additional markets, including UK, Spain and Mexico, taking the full total to 52 material markets to date with an international cume that now stands at $192 million. This overall gross includes $81 million in China, where the film opened last Friday.

Queen somehow Yet again MISSED by The astonishing 80 Million dollar mark on a films opening weekend...

This marks the 14th time since November of 2017, Queen has Predicted a films opening weekend and MISSED by 60 to 80 Million...

for reasons only known to Queen(and I mean that Literally), Because theres not a single piece of data Queen could have based his prediction on, Queen Predicted TLK to open to 121 Million.

again, This can only be called a complete shot in the dark, A prediction made purely out of HOPE.....Theres not a single piece of evidence to base a 121 Million dollar prediction on...All tracking and Pre-release data Had TLK Opening at a minimum of 150 M.....

Then came the final Week before its release where "Predictions" and Final tracking comes in...

Every single Website had TLK projected to open over 175 Million....

Final Tracking had it between 170 to 200 M+

but somehow, Queen understands NONE of this....and Goes with a 121 Million dollar Prediction

this IMO is a perfect example of the true Depths of Queen Hatred for Disney and how it Controls him...

This wasnt Queen Trolling, Queen didnt intentionally make a low prediction for TLK to troll....

No, Queens 121 Million dollar Prediction is The perfect example of just how delusional and upset Disneys success makes him...

Despite in the presence of NOTHING but data that Suggest Otherwise, Queen's couldnt help but to not ONLY HOPE, but delusionally Predict TLK to Open to a low number that No data or tracking suggested was even a possibility....

Its almost like he was trying to "WILL IT INTO EXISTENCE"...

He wanted TLK to Open low SO incredibly bad, He actually Made a prediction that he was IMPOSSIBLE....

Also worth noting....Queen a few days ago, desperately created A "Scale" for TLK, in Which he declared "TLK had to be the biggest live action remake of all time" or its not a monster hit....

I find it hilarious that Even when Queen intentionally tries to create a "scale" for a film that it cant achieve......He cant even do that right....

Lol Queen Thought TLK wouldnt be able to top BATB....He sets a goal, that If TLK isnt the biggest live action remake of all time, Its not a monster hit....He literally intentionally set The HIGHEST Possible goal for the film.....and DISNEY's TLK still achieves and BURIES Queen

This is right up there is his Captain Marvel Fails....

although I admit maybe not quite to The "Claiming 30 times for a month straight CM Will never top WW domestically" and Then vanishing from the board, never to be seen again the moment CM tops WW domestically....

but I would rank this fail near his "This Aint no Wonder Woman" Thread where every prediction he made went down in flames...

also I might put it on par with his "Brace for Impact" fail with Shazam....where he Guaranteed Shazam was "coming in Hotter than Aquaman" and predicted An OW "Near 100 Million but guaranteed a 75 M+ Weekend" and Guaranteed "Shazam would beat BOTH AM1 and AM 2 world Wide"

LOL...I never made a prediction on The Lion King! The only thing I DID say is that it WOULD MAKE MORE THAN TS4(I.e. 121 milion).

You didn’t make a prediction because you have lost confidence. You’re wrong like 90% of the time and then you get made fun of. So I’m not surprised that you were too scared to put out a prediction.

Now, what you did do was say “red alert, red alert...theaters are empty!” So I guess that was your warning to everyone that it was going to fall short. Even that was wrong.

Hey Queen Just wanted to bring this back up again

after Week 1, I forecast TS4 was heading for 900M+ and a 400 M+ total....

Like usual, For at least the 15th time you responded with

and like all 15 times before....The film ends up hitting exactly where I said and Hits exactly where YOU LAUGHED AT....

TS4 is currently at 860 M and 375 M domestic....and Is 100% guaranteed to TOP BOTH 900 M+ and 400 M+ domestic just as I forecast after week 1....

anyways just wanted to bring it up...I know you are no longer "LOLing"...as you've gone into hiding as all 3 of your trolling attempts failed on TS4 and Your now HIDING like you are with the Aladdin,Captain Marvel and Endgame boards

this wouldnt fit Einsteins definition if You had a reasonable or even slight chance of being right.....If someone else on this board who had a track record that proved they actual understand box office was doing the same thing, It would NOT be insanity, It would just be bad luck that they missed that many times in a row....

I can only assume your talking about The argument we are having about EGs overseas Box office...

If so, I feel this statement you made only proves my point that you are confused....

because during our argument on EGs overseas box office, The ONLY results/box office I am reporting Is EGs "Weekend" box office ...NOT Weekday.

again I say and Have the Links to prove it....EG made 2.8 Million during that WEEKEND.....meaning 800K came from overseas....

and how do you not understand that every major box office site including Mojo, boxoffice.com and deadline reported, 2.1 M came from its Domestic total.....

That Leaves 800 K that it made overseas..

The debut is the second largest opening of the year so far and seventh largest of all-time.

Internationally, The Lion King added another $269 million this weekend for an international cume that now stands at $346 million and a global cume totaling $531 million.

Opening weekend crowds were 53% female with 50% of the audience coming in aged 25 or older.

Of course it is...it's a remake of an all time classic animated movie.

You thought it was going to bomb?

It will make just as much money the next six times they remake it...probably within the next 10 years.

I'll rent it probably. No desire to see a movie I already saw 9 million times in 1994.

The remake trend will never die unfortunately.

I wonder if this is the only generation who grew up without ANY original movies of their own. That's sad. EVERY SINGLE MOVIE being released has already been done before.

Oh well, can't wait for the next thousand weekends full of remakes and sequels.
