I remember it being pointed out to me, not recently, but many years ago that black comic-book heroes are really normal when they don't need "Black" as part of their title.

For now, we'll have to be happy that the comic-book heroes from the past like Black Lightning and Black Panther are showing up in live action formats.

At first it was just a race thing considering the time they were created but since then it has been flipped and now its a point of pride for the few with names like that.

Black Lightning has gone on to explain that he was one of the first black heroes and he chose his name because he wanted people to know what they getting when they called on him.
