Seen it all before, but still a good time flick
There is not much new here, and if you have seen John Swab's movies you will see a bunch of familiar faces here. I like Swab's films, this one does not really have anything original in it - seems like we have seen this story a bunch of times before. But, the characters have chemistry, the dialog is cool. The action is satisfying. It's not a movie that you will never forget, but it's a good time on a grey afternoon.
One thing I am curious about is: is Venezuela really like what is shown here? It seems like exaggerated how messed up it is, like a scene where some guerrilla is lying dead in the street, a couple of older folks are just having a conversation on a bench like it's no big deal, and a kid comes up and takes the rifle from the dead body like it's just a casual thing. I doubt it is that f*ed up, but I don't know for sure.
