Ultra-competent women, useless men

After the first episode, I thought perhaps Apple TV had managed to lay its woke feminist agenda (vagenda?) aside, but further viewing revealed they had not. The men are embarrassing losers while the women are sophisticated winners, even when they're not supposed to be. Sophie Okenedo as a cynical spy chief was just absurd.

Apple apparently can't outrun its misandry. Why men buy their products is beyond me.

I would have never recognized her in this. The season was a waste of time, but she looked pretty slick as Ingrid Tearney.

As of 10-7 I wonder why all these British and American TV shows so many of them have to do with massive government corruption and it if is a complicated Muslim plot to weaken the West for their onslaught of population invasion?

That would make a pretty good season of a spy show. At least it would be original.

Seriously? Tired of people who clearly don't have a damn clue what the term "woke" means, mainly because it's been distorted by the right-wingers on fox news and republicans who have simply used it as a catch-all phrase to describe anything they don't like---mainly everything that's so-called liberal to them. The term "woke" which they stole from BLM activists who started using it at their first protests in 2014, dates back to the early '70s, and was first created and used by black people. To "stay woke" simply means to be aware of social injustice going on around you. That's all it means. That's why it's so ridicuous when right-wingers use it to slam everything they don't like that dosen't fit into their narrow-minded, boring conservative culture. Here are some articles that explain the real meaning of "woke", how it originated in African-American communities, and how it's not whatever bull**** the repubs are saying it is now:

The meaning has evolved. Stop playing dumb.

nufsaid16 probably also thinks gay still means "happy" and a pussy is a little cat.

No, dear troll, that's what your ignorant know-it-all little self thinks. Not me.

reply

Bwahaha well said.

reply

Uh, no. It hasn't evolved that much. The right-wing stole it from the left-wing, because right-wingers can't come up with any catchy slang terms of their own worth a damn. "Woke" still means what black people, who invented it, say it means. All the right-wingers have done is twist it around, distort it, and use it to slam anyone who dosen't blindly support the right-wing agenda, and to rile up their conservative base enough to scare them into banning anything they don't believe supports their close-minded conservative point of view---like books on black history, LBGTQ people, and the right to an abortion.

You need to stop playing dumb, and click on the links I posted---that's what the term "woke" really means, not whatever fox news and the right-wing whackjobs tell you it means. They don't know, and don't care, as long as they can use the term to rile up and scare their conservative base into giving them votes. Black people know what the hell it means because we invented---it's just another thing white people stole from us, as usual.

reply

You're right. I wish those "right-wing" liberals like Ricky Gervais and Bill Maher would stop ridiculing "woke".

Another thing white people stole? Lmao. Eradicate all the white innovations that you enjoy today, and you'd be living in a mud hut with a life expectancy of 40.

I could say the same thing about the left-wingers and the word Nazi. The CNN crowd use it as a catch-all phrase to describe anything and everything they don't like. Incel and misogyny are two other words that are losing their meaning because the perpetually angry left-wingers throw them around like confetti.

Showing strong female characters in a show or film is not a putdown of male characters, nor it is "misandry", as you claim. The show, which I haven't seen, but would like to, is supposed to be a satire of today's Britain, based on a series of books written by a male author. That's all it is. Plus men have always gotten away with being losers, or whatever they want to be in society while women have always had it drilled into their heads---at least until a few decades ago---that they always had to be the strong ones and clean up whatever messes the men left behind. Every man in real life is not some mean macho dude punching out other dudes when he feels like it. You sound like you just have a problem with TV show and shows where the women are more than just the male characters' girlfriends/wives/hook-ups or whatever. Strong women who can handle their business exist in real life, just like men who are straight-up losers do. That dosen't mean all men all losers, just that some are. End of story.

Another fragile alt-right manbaby. Yawn. Go back to watching Andrew Tate videos on TikTok

Every member of the Slow Horses is a car crash in their own way, Dander is a drug fiend, Standish is an alcoholic, and the two female heads of MI5 are back stabbing, manipulative narcissists. The most effective agent on the show is a middle aged white man. I'm not sure where you're getting your "feminist agenda" from?
