Carrie...

... did it better.

This one never really gets going until late in the movie when suddenly the main character goes on a predictable killing spree of the sort seen in The Omen and similar demonic/possession movies -- expressionless face, feigned grief, etc.

Plus there's some gratuitous nudity thrown in for a bit of a voyeuristic thrill...

Nobody in the entire movie comes off as likable, so you're never sure who you are rooting for...

Carrie had a very dated revenge feel to it. She killed herself and everyone else in the process. ''Look away'' shows a more clever, not going to get caught form of revenge. I honestly don't think the film is really about anything supernatural despite the evil twin behind the mirror veneer. It's honestly more a portrayal of an evolving personality disorder (borderline personality disorder) come to a head from a girl who was suppressing her other side and being overly submissive to emotional abuse from her father, friends and school bullies.

Carrie didn't kill herself (I'm referring to the original version).

Your last line describing this movie is pretty much the plot line for Carrie. There's a bit of tweaking of the formula for this movie but, it's pretty much the same formula sans the pyrotechnic telekinesis.

As for whether there was a supernatural element, the movie doesn't make it clear. The mirror image starts to move independent of her before she's even aware of it which suggests something other than her mind breaking down, but I'll concede that the movie never really solidly confirms it one way or the other. There was some suggestion of a twin that was killed at childbirth but, again nothing really comes of that.

It was an okay time-waster, but I didn't find it particularly disturbing / frightening / horrific...
