Am I the only one repulsed by the clothes??

The colors are horrific. The red, the blue, the brown. It literally makes me sick. I saw the Natasha Richardson version and not only was it really bad, it actually gave me physical malaise. I often think of it and I feel queasy inside. It is also to me, the ugliest looking film I've ever seen. And I thought well, it's a bad film, maybe if someone does another adaptation I'll see that, but then there is this new adaptation and it makes me sick too, it is SO UGLY.

It's based on a book, where the colour of their clothes are significant to their role (I believe) so they were never going to change them.

The costume and set designers did their job well, then! It's an ugly, depressing, horrific society and the costumes reflect that.

Yes but it is so ugly!!!

Well the future may not be a pretty place, I suggest you stick to the present and fashion magazines.

LetThemEatCake is just a silly nancy who has posted this on both Faye Dunaway's boards, AND the boards to the original 1990 production. He wants everybody to think as he does I guess. It's terribly counter argumentative AND counterproductive as well. Just ignore his threads from now on.
