The Cast - excellent performances

As a whole, everybody in the cast here was really great. Winslet handles her part exceptionally well, Juno Temple is like golden lightning and I really understand why Timberlake's character was stricken by her. Timberlake is quirky and charming, funny and weird. Jim Belushi, though, is really underappreciated here. I heard people talk about Winslet's performance, but Belushi is fantastic. Maybe I was so struck by it because it was far less expected than Winslet. Of course, Kate Winslet delivers a great performance; that's almost a given, especially considering Allen's track record of creating terrific roles for women. But Jim Belushi is, uh... well, he's not an Oscar winner, let's say that. So his portrait of this "Humpty" guy - a buffoon, a dupe, a regular Schmo, a drunk, a blue collar guy - is kinda mesmerizing for its power, its realism, and its unexpectedness.
