See Hereditary instead...
I just happened to see both movies within the last couple of weeks. They perfectly illustrate the difference between terror and horror.
The Nun is all about terror... that quick, sudden gasp and burst of fear when something jumps out of the dark at you.
The emotion becomes short-lived with each repetitive jump scare though. After the third one, you quickly grasp the limit of the film makers' talents, and it simply becomes an exercise in patience trying to get through it.
Hereditary is about horror... that lingering sense of dread and unease that doesn't relent, and continues to build throughout the movie. It's the movie that will leave you thinking about it after the credits roll. The story is relatively simple... what sells this one is the actors, particularly Toni Collette and Alex Wolff.
