Check out the Documentary
Pretty interesting and a bit sad to see some of the wrestlers now

Yes, I agree. I think the documentary was great! I met Matilda the Hun back in the day, when I was about ten years old. I have a picture somewhere, and I plan to dig around in my Mom's old photo albums to find it. I didn't realize, at the time, how fortunate I was to get a pic with her in her glory days.
shareHow close is the show to the reality of what played out?
Did they really take the show to Vegas?
The real GLOW started in Las Vegas, it never started in and around Los Angeles that whole part about staying in the Motel is the fiction as is part of the Casino bit in that it was never a Casino only show. *see note below.
Basically the owner of the Riviera Hotel and Casino on the Vegas Strip Meshulam Riklis was the main financial backer and they filmed the show all over the Riviera and the Ladies lived there for the first two seasons of the TV Show. The curfews and what not that you see in Los Angeles happened but in Vegas, while after that first two years in Vegas the Ladies were moved to apartments down the street for the next 2 years (GLOW ran for 4 years), however much like a bit mention in this series they would still eat their meals at the Casino buffet (while not living there).
It's a great documentary and if you haven't looked at it yet in the intervening 6 months it is well worth doing so.
* N.B: This is a spoiler for the final episode of Season 3: Meaning the whole bit to follow for Season 4 about Bash buying a TV Station is a fiction as well, they never went back to Los Angeles to make the TV Show..
