I just learned that duct tape is awesome. Going to buy a bunch of rolls.

Get the Gorilla duct tape, it's the best. The stickiness won't wear off as fast, and your hands and feet will stick more firmly to the building if you're ever find yourself in the same situation as Mr Johnson. You're welcome.
