Warning: I won't go into detail because I'll remember everything in the book and start crying again. So, this is a gross simplification of the scene. Don't judge the book by it.

basically, Elio - being the 17 year old that he is - masturbated and nutted inside a peach when he got horny thinking about Oliver and Marcia, her female childhood friend whom he is dating. Later that afternoon, Oliver (Armie) went to his room woke Elio (Timothy) and then ate the nut-filled peach, they start porking. The scene is disturbing but very important to the novel.

This might make other people who haven't read the book think it's some cheap porno but it isn't. It's handled very well in the book and its symbolism is very important. I suggest you read the book because it's one of the best I've read.

Oh my, thank you! This is actually provocative, but I trust the director and hopefully I look forward to watching what an arty scene he was capable of.

I wonder how they will handle that scene and not make it too comical.

Please explain how a dude jerking off into a peach and then another dude taking a bite out of that nut filled peach is symbolic?

I really liked the scene in the book but I hear Oliver doesn't eat the peach in the film. Which is understandable. But then what's the point of even including him *beep* the peach in the movie? Can anyone who has seen the movie describe the scene in the film.

According to the review from the Hollywood Reporter, the peach scene is in the movie but short and tastefully shot

The handful of sex scenes are tastefully shot but short and not particularly explicit, though the famous peach scene is featured here in modest but unambiguous fashion.

So I guess the scene is not as detailed as the book, still I am glad the scene is in it.
