LOLWUT? You do know that most people consider the Harry Potter movies to be good movies, right? And if you are only talking about the books, HP is even better in book form.

I don't think your analogy works the way that you think it works.

Compared to Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter is child's play. Kiddie themes vs grand, socio-political and religious themes.

It works for me because the second half of the movie series all sucked. And I pity any adult considering the Potter movies even half as good as LOTR. As for the books I only read the LOTR ones. Wouldn't touch a Potter book.

I have seen your posts on many boards and 9 times out of 10 (if not more often than that) they are obnoxious opinionated rants.

BTW I have not seen this show and so I cannot comment on it. I confine my opinions to things I have at least some clue about.

I think you mean it's as close as Uwe Boll's In the Name of the King is to LOTR. Unless you're comparing the book editions of Harry Potter and LOTR, in which case, as you were...

First time I've heard Harry Potter compared with LOTR, if that was the point, then that's a huge analogy fail there seeing as this show is A LOT like Ash vs Evil Dead in that it has the same basic premise (belligerent ass fights supernatural evil things) and the same short run-time.

Stan Against Evil is basically a PG13 version of Ash and suffers all the problems associated with that.

1. It hasn't been released yet.
2. Ash Vs. Evil Dead is trash, and not funny. I'll give this a chance... hopefully they remember to hire people who can act. If they do, that's already a step above Ash.

Stan started on Monday so wake up and if you're talking about the over the top acting on Ash; it's deliberate. And they all do a great job. Camp is rarely done well but these guys pull it off.

Well I never said that the Potter movies are bad productions or that all the movies were bad. They weren't. But IMO they just pale tremendously against LOTR do got me my andligy is foot on. Feel free to disagree.
