A hybrid of BUFFY and THE STRANGE CALLS

I think I can assume you know the BUFFY series.
THE STRANGE CALLS is an Australian TV series about goofy occult happenings in a small coastal town down under. The central protagonist is the newly arrived officer who gets stuck manning the phone line in the middle of the night when the rest of the police force are home asleep.
He soon discovers after midnight are when the...well, the title... come in, signalling something new and stubbornly paranormal is going down.
The series is on Hulu. Haven't seen it? Okay, try this comparison--
EERIE INDIANA meets ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW meets BUFFY.
I suppose there is some ASH in there too, especially the odd gore (mostly blood sprays) but having not seen ASH I can't say.

