Get rid of the "American"

Please, please, please replace the god awful "American" for the next series. I realize they can't use the stig, but this new guy is a complete dick and irritating as fvck. Get a more professional acting driver for the love of god. If they think this guys quips are funny or something, they aren't. Who's with me on this?

Indeed, stop with that unfunny nascar bullshìt :/

reply

Seconded. The guys a tool!

reply

Nah man, he's great. He is literally every single American stereotype ever. I know he's a huge change from the Stig, but that doesn't mean he's necessarily bad.

reply

The Stig was one of the only things that still entertained me on Top Gear (it was getting a little stale imo) and seeing as The Grand Tour has copied almost all the other elements from that show (except celebrity segment) I don't see why they can't do another Stig type character. Long story short....yea I hate the american.

Mike Skinner's a damn good driver. I just wish they wouldn't force this offensive persona on him (especially the accent, the man's from California for god's sake). Just shut up and let him drive. If I were to replace him with any driver it would be Tanner Faust. He's good (if not great) in front of a camera, he's rather engaging and drives like hell. Plus, he himself is a Top Gear alum.

reply

You nailed it. Tanner Foust is a hell of a driver. He's basically the American Ben Collins. He's a stunt driver, race car driver, drift champion, amazing car control, and TV personality. Tanner would of been a great "America".

reply

Skinner is a better driver than Tanner based on results and the type of cars they've raced.

That's actually one of the things that bothered me really bad about Top Gear USA: They always hyped Tanner up as some great race driver, but his results were always terrible. The kind of cars Skinner has raced translate better

reply

I agree completely. They should actually get the American guy to talk about what it's like driving the car at each stage, similar to how Motor Trend does it on Youtube.

reply

Yeh ha, he looks and sounds like cartman in south park when he tries to be poor and stupid to be a nascar driver. Lols.
