Will there be sequel ?
Badly need to know if the girl actually found her mother in Busan .
shareYes, there will be. I think they'll focus on different characters though. Getting to the mom wasn't the point, Su-an wants her father to notice her that's why she insisted.

There's "Seoul Station," which technically came out first in a festival before "Train to Busan" premiered at Cannes. Came out in Korea after the theatrical release of "Train." Was advertised as a prequel to "Train," but you can just look it as an animated spiritual prologue movie.
shareThis is a sequel to Seoul Station, and I am sure that this did very very well and someone will want to make a sequel. It all depends on who owns the rights and how much money is thrown at them to convince them to make one.
shareI would've loved to see the girl unite with her mother, but I think that's a forgone conclusion (since Busan is safe) and pregnant woman would probably live with them, at least for the time being.
I suspect if the filmmakers do make a sequel, it would be a combination of Aliens and Outbreak, a search for patient zero.
I wonder how widespread the zombies outbreak is. Did they manage to contain it to South Korea only or did the entire world get contaminated?
shareA sequel, we don't know.
But there will be a remake.
