why the old business tycoon didn't die the way he deserved

Was so enthralled with the movie. So hated the old tycoon, which I know represents the narcissistic rich CEOs of south korea's large companies. the movie does a good job reflecting the dissatisfaction of south korean socioeconomic view of conglomerate families that runs them and how these elite treats anyone lower than themselves.

seriously, the way he went was shrug. He's so vile what he did manipulating other passengers and using them as bait so he can get away. I mean he could have gone by being thrown to the infected, fell under the train while in motion, or decapitated in someway. His death was so light that it didnt' seem fitting.

Yes, I think that was kind of the point. A lot about this movie, like with most Asian movies, was psychological, that part was just one more way of making you feel bad. They're so much better at making you think than American movies, and that was one more layer of that. Bad guy didn't get what he deserved just like the goods guys didn't get what they deserved. Sure, at the end the two (there) survivors are shown to be safe, but they lost everything, they never managed to contact her mom, they almost got shot instead of saved and they're in a world where bodies litter the streets. Even though there is a glimmer of hope at the end, this was in no way a feel good movie. I liked that they did it this way, was more in tune with the rest of the movie, and it didn't over shadow the fathers suicide in the end either.

Let's talk about that again after you've watched http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088993 and http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100258.

I didn't see that as an attempt to make us feel sorry for him, more a combination of making us go "Yay, he got what he deserved!" and "Crap, now he's even more of a threat!".

I agree with WeslaLeo2. For a few seconds it worked for me. He just needed to get back to save his mom, at all costs. I felt kinda bad for him when he realised he was infected, thus not going to be able to reach her in time, and went all like "No.. no, no, no.."Still a jerk though. And yeah, I said to my friends that he was probably gonna get the most gruesome death of them all, but when he was shown already infected I was like "Oh, come on!"

he got bit in the leg when he fell and the original conductor jumped down to save him. then he managed to run aboard the slowly moving train while the conductor was getting eaten

I agree with your post but I still would have liked to have seen that guy suffer a horrible death.

apparently, you are uncultured and don't watch enough films. once again, you embarrass yourself with your lack of film knowledge and common sense. You must be single and a virgin.
