I still want to see it
Even though the trailer doesn't look great and got a lot of criticism, I still plan on seeing this. I like the director and a lot of the cast. I also like musicals. Anyone else still wanting to see this?

shareIf I ever see it, it'll be because I like a good trainwreck.
I mean I love a good musical and have a guilty fondness for ALW shows... but the movie cat makeup is the stuff of nightmares.
Just watched the trailer and thought it looked intriguing. What about it is garnering criticism?
I'm not a big fan of musicals, but might give this a go.
Wife is insisting on seeing it.

shareNope. This is striving way too hard with big names to put across an empty shell of a movie. Looks like a vanity project for the Hollywood crowd.
People seem to think if you put together enough "bells and whistles" and production numbers, you will get a convincing film. But you have to have "heart." You need to have a compelling story with sympathetic characters, not Rebel Wilson, Taylor Swift and the rest of the cast, just because they are famous.
