So The Songwriter character... SPOILER ALERT!

He's implied to have lived hundreds and hundreds of years, right? He looks like a man in his 80s or 90s, but in the scene where he is playing a medely of the songs he has composed, one of them is Beethoven's 9th Symphony, which was composed in real life in the early 1820s.

I really enjoyed the movie, but a lot of it was extremely vague. What was up with the Owl Kiss? Was she a supernatural being? How did she fit in with the rich men's plans of getting entombed and reborn with the women? What about The Songwriter? Did he fit in? How?

I almost think all these were completely separate local mysteries that Sam coincidentally stumbled across while looking for Sarah.
