When I found out that the dude was married, and was essentially having affair after affair, I lost all respect for him (naturally)... I guess that was the twist to this painfully slow-paced film.
I know what you mean about him being a real jerk ... but I find the ending to be confusing and rushed !
• during the altercation with the man on the street, Esmail gets hit on the head by a rock and starts bleeding and we are to believe he is dying at that moment ...
The movie then takes a complete turn and we switch to a new scene where Esmail is reunited with his family he left behind in Iran.
Is this supposed to be some type of imagination for him, or are we to believe he survived the injury to his head and was deported to Iran ?
• once back in Iran, Esmail is sitting with his daughter in the living room, two men walk in: a young man trying on a suit, and an elderly man (not his father in law) - what was that all about ? Who are those two men supposed to be ?
I am so sorry. I do not remember much about the movie since I watched it a while ago. The part that stood out was the fact that he was a dirty philanderer.
I hope someone else has a reply for you. Cheers. And sorry again for being of no help.
I don't know what kind of luck you will have on here... Not a lot of people have posted on this board/ forum. I don't think the movie has been seen by a lot of people.
You can try Reddit.com for analyses by the cast and crew of other movies. But there is nothing on there about this particular movie.
Moviechat.org - the site we're on right now - has a lot of IMDB refugees. As far as I know, it was created as a replacement for IMDB's boards. Hopefully, as time goes by more and more people will come on here and comment/ share insights.
Did you try reading reviews on the movie? Maybe there are useful tidbits of info there...
Yes that is the *very first* thing I did in this case: after watching the movie, I’ve been trying to read as many reviews as I could find w/ spoilers , to try and understand the ending - Let me know if you come across any reviews that actually explain the Director’s intent here !
Thanks!
