Dire Dire Dire

What is the point of this show?
Take Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider, Romancing the Stone and The African Queen, mix them all together, remove any decent scripts, acting, and special effects. Inject all the clichés you can imagine and serve on a plate of dodgy cgi third rate action, and you have Hooten and the Lady.
Is this really where we are with television today? Companies happy to spend huge amounts of money on completely unoriginal drivel and pretend like it's the best thing since sliced bread?
This show is just a deeply
depressing example of how little talent exists in modern entertainment production companies.
I don't work in a field that has anything at all to do with entertainment but I'm convinced I could do better than this.
Do they never think to try out their scripts on normal viewers before wasting money on production?
One glance at the script for Hooten and the Lady would have been enough to convince any average viewer that this was a waste of time.
Simply awful.
