looks like Romancing The Stone.
Only seen trailers but it looks very reminiscent of the classic Romancing The Stone movie..

shareLooked to me like a knock off of the Unchartered game series
shareI am watching it this minute and your right, very similar to 'Romancing the stone'.
shareAbsolute rubbish. A total rip off of Romancing the Stone even down to the joint tumble down the hill. So Fawcett was a Victorian explorer who vanished in 1925? Victoria died in 1901.Did anyone actually go into a real jungle? You need more than a T shirt and a pair of jeans, and as for carrying your water supply in a 500ml plastic bottle - you cannot be serious. The amount of miles covered by that boat with one can of fuel was incredible - what did you do - water it down?
I notice they had to have the now common black actor placed in a very senior position and they even managed to get in the homosexual angle by making the tribe bi-sexual!
Total garbage and not worth the watching.
Is it garbage because it is a bad Romancing the Stone rip off or garbage because of the black actor?
It's that man again!!
No it's garbage because they are trying to make a series with a checklist:
Black actor in superior position tick
Mention of homosexuality or at least bi sexuality tick
Heroine must be upper class tick
Hero must be rough diamond tick
and so on.
The trouble is: Romancing the Stone was fun and well made with the right dash of comedy, romance, and danger (along with a little bit of shocking gore at the end) with quality cinematography, editing, and music (supplied by Alan Silvestri). The mix of Kathleen Turner, Michael Douglas, and Danny DeVito was inspired and you had Robert Zemeckis (The Back to the Future Trilogy) directing with a few consulting tips from Steven Spielberg.
This show has none of that. "The Lady" (Ophelia Lovibond) is quite attractive, but that's about it.
