Agreed! It is not meant to be realistic - its just fun! If it was based in reality they are unlikely to have found so many legendary things that nobody has found for years! It's Great Recession busting escapist fun like Saturday morning tv and films used to be.

Totally agree! It's one of the only shows me and my wife actually set aside the time to watch together. It's like Romancing the Stone meets Indiana Jones with a healthy dose of Tomb Raider thrown in for good measure.
I wonder how it would fare it were just on terestial, like ITV or something.

I'm enjoying it generally but there could be some improvements if they do a second series.

The best thing is the chemistry between Alex and Hooten - both great leads. I love all the locations and it looks great - it obviously costs a lot to produce as you can tell it looks expensive.

But I hope for Series 2 they work on the stoylines a bit - they are fun but they wrap up too quickly and easily. There's load of exposition and then they just end.

They could lose Jessica Hynes and the other guy back in the UK as they're quite annoying.

Also, I'm hoping for a twist in S2 in that Alex's husband turns out to be some kind of criminal mastermind and he has been playing her. Otherwise he's a bit of a weak character.

It is predictable and full of cliches, but I cannot help loving it. It's amazingly entertaining, I enjoy every second of it.

Great cast, terrific locations, and yes, interesting stories.

Silly fun, love it. Shame season 1 is only 8 episodes, miss it already.

Love that I can watch it with my 10 & 12 year old. My 10 yr old asked why was the lady marrying the man that looked like Hooten!

Great chemistry between the two leads, I enjoy Jessica Hynes, maybe a bit more plot less scenery ratio in the budget and great!
