The novel was truly suffocating (in the good sense)

I read the novel a couple of years ago. It was a VERY slow paced one, the kind that goes slow but keeps building the sense of danger non-stop. The feeling was suffocating, ominous. In the good sense, good horror stuff.

Recommended for whoever hasn't read it.

I thought the novel ground to a halt when the main character got captured by the ridiculous heavy metal teenagers, and then picked up slightly when he was trying to escape the monster.
