I thought so too. And I usually don't like Kidman and I think that's a good choice for Miss Martha lol

I haven't read the book, but Dundst at age 35 is maybe a bit old for her role (?) however, she's always looked younger than she is.
Elizabeth Hartman was good for this part because she seemed like a vulnerable recent grad who'd been promoted to teacher. There was a definite age gap between Geraldine Page and herself...an imbalance of experience.
