Drew's acting at first was horrible I thought. But she gets so so much better as does the show. If you dont like the first few but want to give it a chance you might be pleasantly surprised

I didn't think the first 2 episodes sucked per se, just weren't all that great and I didn't like it as much as I expected too (though I did love Nathan Fillian as I enjoy him in everything he does). The acting seemed a bit stilted (esp. Drew's) even for a black comedy. The 3rd and 4th episodes (all I've seen so far) were hilarious though! Partly because it seems the actors have sort of found/settled into the right groove. I still do find Timothy Olyphant funnier than Drew Barrymore for some reason but she is so much better. Which is weird because Drew's no stranger to comedies. I think it takes a certain style and delivery for an actor to do a dark comedy though without seeming like too much of a caricature.
shareI'm four episodes in and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Drew and Timothy play so well off of each other. This show is a hoot !

shareI'm enjoying it more now than when I started the show; I've been a longtime Drew fan, but now that I'm older, I recognize she isn't as strong an actor as I may have originally thought when I was younger, so agree that her acting in this wasn't as strong in the early episodes as it is now midway thru or in later episodes perhaps (still watching show, on episode 8 now, I believe). She and Tim do play well off each other though, so interested to see how later seasons play out once I'm finished with current season.
Not much of a fan of the actor that plays the daughter, but its more the character than the actress.
