Oh noes, a fake user troll account!!!

Thanks for logging in to attack me specifically on this post when you have only logged in 6 times in the last 6 months. And this is your very 1st post on the Santa Clarita Board - I certainly hit a nerve!!!!!!

Oh no!!! Somebody not liking the fact that we don't like something they do. Something that we consider incompetently made.

reply

Which completely undermines my entire argument.
I hit a nerve so bad you looked at a history.
That's pretty pathetic.

reply

Ok then, I've been a member for 7 years and I rated this a 9 because it made laugh consistently throughout every episode.
You don't like it and that's fine but you're being pretty ridiculous by assuming any high scores must be fake because you didn't like it. Do you really think Netflix or whoever you think is doing this cares enough about imdb ratings to spend the time and money doing this?
That's a pretty weird way to think.

Even though I don't totally agree with OP, he kinda has a point. Look at the top250, there are movies that shouldn't even be there at ridiculously high positions. And some movies that should definitely be in the top 50 and aren't even there. Of course everyone has the right to his opinion but if you make a list of "best of all time", this is supposed to be an agreeable opinion for most people. Seeing Dark Knight there at the fourth position isn't something I should see with my eyes.

This is absolutely THE WORST SHOW I have watched in a very long time and I too find it hard to believe anyone would rate it a 10 never mind any number abovet a five, but to each his or her own. It is a fact, however, as you have pointed out, that usually at the beginning of a new series or movie there are people who have money and/or spent large amounts of time on a project and they come here and rate their projects 10s so that other people will watch the show.

I would just ignore this other poster who seems like he enjoys provoking you. I will just tell you I gave it a one and I almost never give a show a one. I did this for two reasons. First the show is horrible and second I sat through a very long scene of projectile vomiting hoping the show got better and instead it just got worse and worse. Why do writers seem to think that audiences enjoy watching someone vomit on screen, never mind projectile vomiting? It is disgusting and not in a "I think I will eat my co-workers fingers off" kind of way.

"If coincidences are just coincidences, why do they feel so contrived?"

reply

I'm 18 minutes in (I thought it looked interesting whilst flicking through Netflix) & it's just SO cringey! Due to the fact that the acting is atrocious (and more wooden than Pinnochio), the projectile vomiting scene just felt 'meh' and as bland as the opening scenes.
Usually I try to be more diplomatic but the boards are being closed by the idiots running the show, so f vck IMDB

reply

Apparently it gets much better around episode 7 and up to the finale.

Supposedly the actors get more comfortable in their roles and are less "stilted". I'm on episode 5 and overall its OK. I laugh a bit.

What drives me crazy is the fact that they are talking about murdering and killing and eating people in the most public of places!

reply

Actually, I know pretty damn well why the boards are getting closed. Pretty damn well...

reply

Indeed. Truly one of the most abysmal pilots we've ever seen.

reply

Absolutely agree. And I think this is why IMDB is shutting down because they being a part of Amazon cannot see negative things about a show or movie because it would hurt its sales. This is the real reason why they are closing. Terrible move

reply

I don't think they would mind the negative reviews and low scores, they probably have a bigger problem with all the hatred many people have for shows they don't like.

That doesn't mean you can't express yourself, but maybe if people would stop with this "I HATE THIS SHOW SO THAT MEANS IT'S BAD AND NO ONE SHOULD LIKE IT!" crap, or even worse the stuff criticizing the actors personally because they hate their characters, they wouldn't have to shut these forums down.

I think the internet needs a lesson on how not to like stuff.

And just in case anyone checks my history, I'm not innocent in all this. I hate my fair share of shows and have said some dumb stuff in the past, but I asked myself why I needed to let the world know I hate The Big Theory and the answer was I don't so I stopped and let the fans enjoy it.

reply

Yes it is a exciting show who deserve fantastic ratings, good post!!

-It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything-

I'd say the reason they are closing is the lack of respect.

Just like the lack of respect you showed by posting this.

People CAN have a different opinion from you. That's why they are called opinions and not facts.

Why do you leave no room in the world for people to like things you don't like? Sounds like something you should work through in therapy.
