When i heard the outline I immediately thought of izombie. It won't have the izombie/Veronica Mars writing though.

On episode 5 now. iZombie+Dexter+Desperate Housewives

So far, I must say that I prefer iZombie, however, the Santa Clarita Diet series has improved dramatically from episode 1 to episode 5. Looking to finish it over the next week to see how it progresses from there.

You must have only watched the first episode or two. Admittedly, like most pilots, it had a rough start. It gets much MUCH better. :)
