Tonya Harding didn't actually do the whacking of Nancy Kerrigan's knee, but she was unquestionably involved in the masterminding and planning of this whole sordid incident. Why else would Tonya Harding deliberately co-conspire to obstruct the investigation and prosecution of Jeff Gillooly (now Jeff Stone) and his henchmen?

shareWait, according to this all Tonya knew is that they were planning on trying to intimidate Nancy by sending her threatening letters like she (supposedly) had gotten, and even that she wasn't really interested in. She just let "the boys" do a lot of talking while she focused on her skating. If that is true I think her punishment was harsh, although I never saw her as sympathetic or likable. This film does show the whole story better (if it truly happened this way).

To be truthful, the fact that Tonya knowingly co-conspired to obstruct the investigation and prosecution of Jeff Gillooly (her ex-husband) and his henchmen (which is something she admitted to, in order to make a deal, and therefore avoid a jail sentence), is a crime as it is, and she lost her career, at least in part, because of it. Not that long afterwards, she made an unprovoked attack on Darren Silver (her now-ex boyfriend) with a hubcap, seriously injured him, and got a police warrant down on her own head, which also contributed to the loss of her figure-skating career, because the Figure Skating Association thought she was too much of a safety risk for other people. That was thuggish behavior on her part. She committed two crimes, which got her banned for life. No sympathy for her, and I have no intention or interest in seeing this film.

Tonya Harding is a real creep, not sympthetic, and not the least bit likable.
Sure, they have the right to make the film about her, but it's MY right NOT to go see that piece of garbage. I saw the trailer, and it's a dead giveaway as to what the film "I, Tonya" is: a stupid, poorly cast and poorly acted piece of junk.
This makes my blood boil! And yea I'm fully aware of what actually happened. Tonya pathetic Harding acting like the victim. She was and always will be a trailer trash liar.
An unprovoked violent attack like this should be grounds for a death sentence. It is really a sign of a truly evil person to commit this crime, no matter what part she had in it. Pure evil.
I am still somehow interested in seeing this I've heard a lot of good things. Also love Margot Robbie. I will not let this change my opinion of Tonya though, she's a piece of dogshit.
